Most of the clients were actually restaurant chains and as such store (back office and terminals) configuration was typically set-up at corporate head quarters. For instance, Pricing, Menu Item categorization and stock control alongside terminal screen layouts and operation authorization were configured at corporate based on concept, region or some other grouping that made sense from a productivity and control perspective (sometimes these configurations were overridden at the store level). To allow this functionality and to keep maintenance of over a hundred stores simple and achievable various maintenance screens were developed with copy configuration productivity enhancements. The underlying data for these screens was exported to XML and sent from corporate to the stores via the internet. |
